This movie follows the “Sesame street gang,” as Elmo loses his prized possession….his trusty blanket when it is stolen by Huxley Huxtable, the villain of the story who lives at the top of a mountain in a place called “grouch land” which is located somewhere deep inside Oscar’s trash can. Grouch land is a place where everything is the opposite of what it is on Sesame street where dirty is better and nice doesn’t exist. This is a place where you can go to jail for asking for help as it is against the law. Elmo finds himself in grouch land when he attempts to retrieve it setting up countless adventures and meeting new friends along the way. The other sesame street characters, (Big bird, Telly, Oscar the grouch, etc,) attempt to save Elmo from grouch land. Will Elmo be able to retrieve one of his best friends? Will the sesame street gang be able to save their red furry friend from a man whose claim is “i touch it, I own it?

It was great to see the Sesame street gang on the big screen. It was a staple in many households for preschoolers and even adults alike. Sesame street tends to bring nostalgia to those who view it as adults. At nearly 34 years old, I’m a big fan of Elmo so I really enjoyed this movie as a child. This movie would for sure put a smile on children’s faces. It’s a great fun family friendly movie.

This movie is notable for being one of the few movies in which we were late to see it in theatres (hence me having only seen it partially in theatres.) Having said that, I was able to view it in full when it came available on Netflix.

I really enjoyed this movie
