This is the true story of a man who was blindsided by one of his greatest fears while doing something as simple as minding his own business while waiting for his bus to arrive.
One evening, a man named Jeff left his semi warm and cozy house to catch a bus to meet his friends for the evening. Though this is his house, he sometimes feels like he is trapped in it. Throughout his days, he calls his mother over and over again to which she replies that he calls too much. Despite his constant admission to having the best intentions in doing so, his mother usually gets mad at him for his attempts. Now this man has a very bad fear of birds. This fear goes back to the days when he was born where despite being annoyed with his screams every time one approaches him, his family reassures him that birds don’t care about him. Despite the fear still being pr4esent within him, Jeff had come to realize that they may be right as no birds had ever caused him any harm. That was until a few days ago when Jeff was challenged like he had never been challenged before.
As he opted to go for a walk to avoid the stress of the late bus, he walked by a woman whose SUV was parked near his house. He noticed her unloading something from the trunk of the car. As he got closer, he noticed that it was a bird as it was flapping it’s wings. Jeff screamed in horror as he moved his wheelchair further away from the bird while asking the lady if she intends to kill him. He goes around the corner to collect his thoughts and then returns to reassess the situation. He asks the lady if she knew the bird was in her car and why she would allow a freak of nature such as that to go in her car while saying he’s afraid of birds. She tells him the bird, (who was thought to have been a falcon at first glance,) was a hawk that was her pet having been hired to kill the other birds to prevent them from landing on the property as the hawk hates other birds. She then calls the bird Monty which surprises Jeff. He warns her not to go into his building with Monty in tow as they will annoy the both of them with their constant covid protocols, which annoys Jeff himself. The lady says she went in and signed herself in like normal to which Jeff asks how Monty reacted to having his covid screening done to which the lady annoyingly replied that they didn’t ask him because he wasn’t human. This comment seemed to allow Monty as he let out a big noise from his beak out of annoyance while flapping his wings as a threat to Jeff.
Jeff then became annoyed at both the bird and the woman as he issued a stern warning for the woman to keep the bird under control or he would deal with it himself by killing the bird. He says he will do that to the bird if the woman brings him anywhere near his room.
The woman then got annoyed with Jeff who said she was just trying to do her job and that Monty was annoyed with the covid questions.
Jeff apologizes and says he would never think of killing another living creature as his mother wouldn’t allow him to do so. However, he did tell her that if Monty or her or any other living creature that she might possess in the back seat of her car goes near his room, he would call animal control.
The lady then shook her head in annoyance and left as his bus arrived.
If this movie review doesn’t sound like a real movie, it’s because it’s not. This actually happened to me. I met a brown freak of nature the other night who came very close to never flying anywhere again. The lady in question, whose name I don’t know or care about is a freak for having a bird as a partner. I cannot believe that. A hawk, especially one that she now knows scares at least one other human being, can be considered a partner to a human, much less a friend, (which she also referred to him.) Birds are afraid of people, except if that person is me and I would never ever think of one as my friend. If you ask me, that woman has mental problems.
As for me, the only friend I have with wings is Woody Woodpecker, who isn’t even real.
Though this may seem harsh, I do stand by my earlier threat….that Monty better fly clear of me.
Due to the nature of this story, I had to force myself to write it as my fear of birds extends to not only seeing them in front of me but on tv and even seeing the word bird or any type of bird written on any computer or piece of paper will cause me to freak out though there have been a couple of exceptions to this;
The scene in the movie “Yes Day” (blogged through email before the site was made available to me,) where the father is attacked by a family of crows doesn’t bother me. This could be because of the fact that the movie as a whole was a good one
We also cannot forget the most important exception:
I LOVE TO EAT CHICKEN!
Other than these two exceptions, I hate birds and want nothing to do with them.
