Movie Review: Daddy’s Perfect Little Girl (year of release unknown)

Movie Review: Daddy’s Perfect Little Girl (year of release unknown) seen on Prime Video

Thriller; not recommended for young children; violence, coarse language, mature themes including scenes which depict possible suicide

This movie follows a troubled but spoiled 12 year old girl who becomes jealous anytime her father spends time with anybody else having devoted most of his life to making her happy following the absence of her mother.

I have seen this movie before writing this blog and honestly, I was not impressed with it at all. The girl in this movie seems to have the same issues I once had with mom being around others and devoting some of her time to others ETC and believing that she had forgotten about me too. This is the only little bit of praise I give this movie. The fact that the girl reminds of a time in my life in the not too distant past where I used to be just like her and would get mad at mom anytime she was around other people, especially those who were disabled. However, I didn’t go anywhere near the lengths that she went to ensure her dad didn’t forget about her. In the movie, she feigns injuries to get her dad’s attention when he is occupied with someone who she believes might take her place as being his number one. This prompts her father to always come to the rescue. Also, her overall behaviour in this movie is a complete turnoff to me. From the beginning, she is shown to be rude and disrespectful to those around her, even going as far as to attempt to harm someone in one scene where it appears she may not get her way. This movie also shows subtle hints of racism as she supposedly has a best friend who is dark skin. The only time throughout the movie where she is nice to her is when she thinks she is getting her way and to rub all the good things her dad does for her in her friend’s face. When things don’t work out for her, she is shown to be rude to her friend for no reason. Honestly, I don’t know how she can call her a friend. Also, in the movie, the teenage son of a woman who her father ends up dating is also dark skin. When he is shown to likely divert his attention away from her, she injures him. This girl is just a spoiled brat and nothing else. I would think that the reason I didn’t turn out like her is because mom set firm boundaries when she saw I was acting like that. She would not put up with my behaviour especially if I was to treat Chris bad for no reason. I think in my case, it just took some getting used to on my part when our parents started dating. Once that happened though, I can honestly say that Chris and I are closer than ever. It’s clear in this movie that this girl has no boundaries as her father lets her get away with anything without implementing any sort of consequence for her actions. This just goes to show that no matter how much you love your kids, if you don’t learn to say no to them once in a while, it could end up hurting them in the long run.

Now I say that it’s impossible for me to write reviews on movies that I fail to watch to it’s full extent. However, this is one of those movies I do not have to watch again because if I’m being honest, this movie almost makes me mad to see. I don’t know how this girl got away with as much as she did and I know enough about the film to say that I’ve never seen such a bad movie, especially one which imparts the message to young children that it doesn’t matter how badly they misbehave, their actions won’t have consequences. I honestly couldn’t believe what I was seeing. I hope I never see this movie again.
