This usually depends on what type of meat is being offered. I can’t stand ham. Everything from the way it looks, smells, and tastes makes me sick to even look at. This caused me trouble certain years at Thanksgiving as my mother sometimes opted to have ham instead of turkey. Also, at one point, I was staying at rotary home on Thanksgiving where they had ham instead of turkey. I went crazy with different condiments as I tried to change the taste of the ham but it did no good. Then again, I was not a fan of that place or the food they made for meals. Also, I’ve been known to be very picky as it relates to food which has earned me some criticism from mom over the years.
However, in terms of meat I do like, I’m a huge fan of ground beef. I will only eat spaghetti if there is ground beef mixed in the sauce and over the years, I have mixed ground beef in certain other foods to improve the quality and taste of it such as Kraft Dinner and white rice, ETC. I also really love chicken especially with honey.
Sometimes I will opt to just eat chicken on it own with no side. This is something else that has earned me criticism from mom over the years as she feels as though every piece of meat should be served with a side of potatoes or rice and vegetables as well. I will only eat potatoes if there is gravy to go on them. The absence of gravy will cause me to gag if I try to eat them and I will not eat butter on my potatoes. These days, rice is served with any meal that consists of a piece of meat as the main course. Though I used to be able to eat rice provided it was drenched in soya sauce or honey or even ketchup, it has since become too frequent that this is served and I would now prefer French fries as a side for my meat. On occasion, I will go to the grocery store, (usually within a mall,) and pick up an order of French fries from the area where pre cooked meals can be purchased anytime I am scheduled to eat meat for my supper. The problem is that if this is done too frequently, it will earn me more criticism from mom due to it’s lack of health benefits as meat is eaten almost every day here. Also, I’m really not a fan of any sort of vegetables other than corn that has been taken off the cob and only in small quantities. I will unfortunately not eat any other vegetable that is offered other than the ones that come in a frozen mixed bag. However, this is also eaten in small quantities and very infrequently which is to mom’s displeasure. However, my feelings on eating meat are that I love chicken and ground beef and I hate to say that I’m not a fan of all the fixings as they call them.
