I don’t buy groceries because I live in a place where my food is provided for me by through the rent I pay. However, I do buy myself little things here and there such as toiletries and snacks such as chips, muffins, and the most important thing of all…Pepsi. I also buy small meals at the grocery store for myself if the house doesn’t serve something I like and sometimes I will buy myself a box of potato wedges or fries, ETC to go with a provided main course that the house prepares. However, grocery shopping is something I should not have to do for myself aside from the little things I need which aren’t provided by the house where I live. It’s one of the perks of living here. The biggest problem as far as my mother is concerned is the amount of times I eat the food they provide vs. eating at a restaurant or buying my own food, ETC. She does not believe that I use this advantage to it’s fullest extent and often says I should eat at home more specifically because I pay money to be able to eat the food they provide and groceries are not a necessity for me. This unfortunately has turned into arguments where I try to justify my reasoning for not always eating what’s provided here. My reasons range from the day of the week, (as I routinely eat out on Fridays,) to them not serving something that is to my liking. However, she ends up winning the argument by usually saying that I’m just a picky eater and that I should start eating more of the meals they provide.
The bottom line though is that I really don’t need to buy groceries given my situation. Therefore my supposed top five list of grocery items is going to be short and may only be less than five. However, my top list of grocery items are:
- Pepsi
- chips
- French fries/potato wedges
- Anything provided from a restaurant, (I think my all time favourite is Swiss Chalet or St. Hubert.)
- Muffins, (preferably from Tim Hortons but I can also eat store bought muffins as well.)
At least I was able to come up with a top 5 for my supposed grocery list. As everybody can probably tell from reading this, I don’t have the best eating habits but this is something I’m working on.
