What’s your dream job?

Up until about a year ago give or take, I would be drawn a blank as to think of anything my dream job would be. If this question was asked to me years ago in the months and even years following my departure from my job in the government, I would have already finished answering this question and it would have been my shortest answer. It would have been something like a one word answer…maybe nothing or if you wanted me to give a longer answer, it would have been something to the effect of “Don’t ever ask me again”….”What do you think?” ETC. At this time in my life, any job was seen as a threat to me. I didn’t think I would ever have a positive and definitive answer to this question much less an answer that some people would like and wouldn’t find offensive. However, this changed when I acquired this site. For once in my life, I have become addicted to my online presence and everything I do leads me to sitting behind my desk either answering one of these questions or doing my new favourite hobby. This hobby has been lacking as of late due to my illness along with some technical difficulties I’ve been having but my new favourite hobby is reviewing movies. I absolutely love doing this and it is something I would do for the rest of my life. In fact, this would be great if I got paid for it, which I don’t unfortunately. However, I have imagined myself getting paid for every movie review I do on this site. As for how much, well, I don’t mind disclosing since it’s only a dream but I see myself getting paid $3000.00 in cash every time a new movie review is posted. As for who my boss is, it would be my girlfriend, (who I also don’t have in reality and I am currently single.) My job title would be very simple. Watch a new movie. Write about it. Get paid $3000.00 immediately. I’ve done the math and if this was real, I would make upwards of $21,000 a week if I watched a new movie every day of the week. You’re probably asking yourselves, “What would Jeff do with all of that money?” For those of you who are unaware, my name is Jeff hence the title of Jeff’s movie room. Well, it would be very easy for me to say I would spend on things I would normally not have the money for. Having said that, I’m not a bad guy and my mother has her sights set on retirement. If I was to keep earning upwards of $21,000 a week, this would go a long way in supporting mom’s retirement while also helping my younger brother if he needs money for something. So the money wouldn’t be all for me. As for a girlfriend though, this part of the dream is pretty much half pleasant and half a nightmare. She can be instrumental in my success as a movie reviewer but she can also be a nag when she wants to be. So I don’t know if she would be a good addition to my dream or not. However, the short answer to this question is that my dream job would be the same as my favourite hobby with the difference being that I get paid for it. This unfortunately appears to only be wishful thinking in reality though. However, I suppose it’s nice to dream.
