This movie follows a medical professor who hires one of his students to care for his sick wife. Although she seems good natured at first, she soon goes to extreme lengths to show her admiration for her professor even if this is at the expense of his ill wife.

This is another movie in a long line of movies which follow the same premise as they always do. Someone falls in love with someone else who is married, takes the life of that person’s wife and then tries, (mostly unsuccessfully,) to obtain that person as their own, a whole bunch of crap occurs until the villain gets their comeuppance at the end either by means of murder or arrest. Well, at least this movie broke away from that formula a little bit. While most of this formula was followed, it actually ends in the villain committing suicide as she is about to be arrested for her actions. This is one of the very few good points I will say about this movie. There really isn’t much else other than the fact that the girl is hot. However, she is totally unstable and I have to say that this is not the kind of movie I would want to watch with mom having gone through what she has gone through in the past year with her cancer. Though mom is doing better and her own illness did not require her to need hired help, certain scenes in this movie reminded me of the things she went through having been sick and all. The first time I watched this movie was long before her cancer diagnosis and even longer since I started reviewing movies so therefore, it did not bother me as much as it did now to see certain scenes in this movie. This time around, it got so bad that I almost had to turn it off following one particular scene where I had to remind myself that it wasn’t mom in the movie and she was not the one dying at this hot girl’s hand. In that moment, I lost grip of reality a little bit and almost called mom to say that she should not hire her to be her nurse now matter how hot she is and no matter how sick mom is. I actually forgot that it was a movie and it pains me to say this but I will. For all the times I’ve been down Chris’ throat for crying during movies, I have to admit that I fought the good fight in trying to hold back the tears myself. This is saying something as usually I don’t show emotion during movies but luckily, I was able to keep myself from crying in the end. I’m just glad that mom did not need as much help as the woman needed. Having said that, I’m human and I will say that if mom ever wants to hire someone to help me bathe or do anything staff usually do for me, I would love it to be her that she hires PROVIDED SHE DOES NOT KILL HER IN HER SLEEP! I will say that the look of this girl would almost boost the otherwise flop movie rating if it wasn’t for what she did to the guy’s wife not to mention her young daughter’s mother. This nearly brought tears to my eyes until I forced myself to believe that it wasn’t mom going through this and I even had to force myself not to call mom at this time of night as I would likely get in trouble. This young girl is unstable and a psycho. She nearly has no redeeming quality other than her looks. Ok so you know what? I have a heart. I know it’s just a movie and to be honest, she was fun to look at throughout. By no means is this movie getting a full on pass in my eyes. As a matter of fact, I would not watch it again if I got paid as much money as I would like to get paid for reviewing movies. However, her face and body was very pleasing on my eyes and at the time of this writing, I’m sick myself with chest congestion from a cold I caught over the holidays. Though I’m suffering through this, seeing her face made it all worth it. Once again, I will say that the offer is still on the table if mom wants to hire the real her, (not the character she plays in this movie,) to be my personal assistant if this person does not harm my mother in any way. Having said all of this, I’m not holding my breath for her to do so and as a matter of fact, she would probably think I’m a pig for talking like this but a man can dream I suppose. Her looks boosted this horrible movie.

Note: I actually had to force myself to even review this movie as I knew that it would be pretty much the same as my last two reviews and I’m getting sick of the same old routine. Also I do not like remembering mom’s illness and unfortunately, this movie reminded me a lot of those hard times. As I believed reviewing this movie would have brought me to tears, I almost didn’t do it. However, in the end, I came up with something as a means of keeping my word when I initially said that every new movie, (or one that has yet to be reviewed,) would get one after I got my place on this site. I actually wrote much more than I intended to so I guess I could call that a moral victory. Having said that though, this movie was not a moral victory….it was a moral failure….one that was saved by the power of attraction.

Movie rating: 5 out of 10
