Movie Review: Be My Valentine (2013)

Movie Review: Be My Valentine (2013) seen on cable tv and Prime Video

Comedy; some scenes may be unsuitable for young children; mature themes, minor sexual content, brief medical dialogue

This movie follows a firefighter who falls for a woman after he is dispatched to tend to a fire that occurs in the flower shop where she works.

I’m really getting sick of these types of movies. Every movie I’ve watched in the last little while has had the same premise. Some love sick person who everybody tries so hard to get to date and he/she says no the entire film only to have a change of heart in the final moments and then he/she ends up happy. I’m not saying this is a bad thing if someone is happy but I have to be honest in saying that this is a place I would never go again and a situation I never want to find myself in again, (at least for now.) The entire movie is so predictable from start to finish. Everybody is in love. They go on one date and then they claim to not want to go on another only for them to indeed go on another and end up falling for each other. In these types of movies, the conflict is very minimal and only lasts a scene or two before everything goes back to normal. I knew what was going to happen the whole movie and this isn’t because I’ve seen it already even though I have. It’s because the same thing happens in almost every movie I watch no matter which one it is. I really need to start expanding my genres a little bit more. It once again got to a point where I honestly wasn’t going to do a review on this movie as it’s now getting too repetitive. I keep mentioning the same thing over and over again. To be honest, it wasn’t even really that good. The only reason I chose to do a review on this one is to make good on my promise that every single movie I see now that I’m on this site gets a review no matter how sickening this is getting. Here’s a fun little fact. If I had chose not to do a review on this movie, it would have been the very first one I have seen after acquiring the site which I did not review and I did not want to start this. I like to think I made a commitment in joining this site and choosing to do this so I have to honor that commitment. This is why I pulled a review from out of nowhere. It was just so I can keep my promise that I made to myself. However, this movie was no good on any levels. It was way too predictable and stupid if you ask me. I mean, even my mother’s cat could probably predict the ending if she ever watched this movie. This is how predictable it is. Hopefully my next review is something better but you know what? I think it will be because I’m watching the first full fledged comedy since before Christmas. So maybe I can finally start coming up with some new stuff to review instead of all of this love sick nonsense. I will say this. This movie is not recommended at all.
