Movie Review: Heart Eyes (2025) seen in theatres
Horror/Romance; not recommended for young children; violence, gory scenes throughout, scenes which depict law enforcement, minor medical scenes and images, scenes of romantic settings and situations, scene with sexuality and sexual situations, gory scenes
This movie follows a masked killer known as the heart eyed killer who stalks and murders couples on Valentine’s day. He soon comes across two people who are caught in his crosshairs even though they are not a couple when they are spotted in an embrace with the intent of making the girl’s ex boyfriend jealous. They must band together to stop the love killing maniac while trying to suppress their own feelings for each other as they try to maintain the fact that there is no connection between them. However, trying to escape without being hit by cupid’s arrow proves difficult as the two grow closer in their attempt to stop the monster.
For this particular review, I will start with the negative aspect because this is one of those movies where the good outweighs the bad in terms of quality. As much as I can, I always like to end on a high note. Anyway, the one fault I have with this movie is that this one did not exactly come as advertised at least as far as the preview was concerned. While it did deliver in terms of the masked killer, I have to say I was very disappointed in the amount of sex that there was in this film as the preview lead me to believe that there would be. Having said that, there was one scene in particular that delivered in that department and I will say that the one scene where this occurred was enough to please me. As a matter of fact, it was so good that it will not even effect the overall rating of this movie. I will say that the main female character was worth the price of admission as she was hot. I really enjoyed looking at her even though she was not the one who was having the sex which surprised me because I thought for sure that the guy would be all over her. She was that beautiful and sexy if I may say so myself. I would go as far as to say that if I had a girlfriend who looked as hot as she was, it would definitely last forever. On a different note, I think the killer was really great in this movie and the amount of violence and blood that he spilled was awesome. This was well worth the money to see.
This movie really plays on the cliche of “man meets young attractive woman whom he claims is something other than a romantic interest only to have a change of heart and fall hard for her by the end of the movie,” cliche. I mean, a blind person could have seen it coming just by the way the movie started. He had just met her and throughout the movie, they claim “Oh yeah, we’re just business partners, we’re not together,” ETC but it’s pretty clear to anyone who thinks logically that at some point near the end of any film where this happens that by the end, they’ll be more than just business partners and this is exactly what happened. Those who have read my previous reviews on movies which I felt had a predictable ending would think that this would negatively effect the overall rating of the movie but in this case, it won’t because it’s next to impossible for me to find any faults in a movie with an actress that sexy no matter how predictable the ending was. One thing is for sure, I would love for her to be my girlfriend or maybe someone that mom hires to help me do my normal care. This is wishful thinking though. At least she’ll hopefully be in my dreams. This movie for sure gets a pass but I hope for my sake, I never meet her because I might never want her out of my sight. That actress makes this movie worth watching and I would definitely recommend it.
