You’re going on a cross-country trip. Airplane, train, bus, car, or bike?

In my experience, taking public transit even in the city is hard enough. I’ve heard a lot of people complain about late buses in the city and how they need a better system and more buses, ETC. Having said that, nobody has complained more about public transit than me as my buses are always late for me and I have to wake up early to book them. I find myself having to give myself two hours leeway to get to places which require me to be there by a specific time due to trust issues I have with the bus only to have me get where I’m going far earlier than I intended to. Also this causes me trouble getting home as I end up having booked my ride for much later than I needed and I have to wait, ETC. The point is that this would be much harder to do if I was going cross country. I already have enough problems getting around the city using the bus so this would eliminate that option from my list. I hate what airplanes would do to my ears and I hate the train as I have to keep switching seats. As far as a bike is concerned, I can’t even ride it because of my disability so that would leave a car as my preferred vehicle for any cross country road trip. To further support my answer, if I was taking a car on a road trip, chances are that it would be driven by my mother or step father which would mean I don’t need any form of public transit at least for the duration of my road trip. Simply put, like most other people, I really dislike using public transit. It’s there if I need it but any chance I get to not have to use it I take. The problem is that this usually means I don’t go out as most of my trips result in public transit needing to be taken. With that comes the stress and annoyance of them coming late and taking forever to get me where I’m going, ETC. Sometimes I find it easier just to stay home to avoid this but unfortunately this is not always an option as there’s usually somewhere I need or want to go at least once a month thus necessitating the use of public transit. I’ve heard something from a lot of people as it pertains to this and actually recently, I’ve used this as a means to look at things from the other point of view. This enables me to accept all the faults that come with public transit despite the belief that they’re annoying and frustrating. I’ve heard people say that if we didn’t have public transit, (in my case, para transpo,) we wouldn’t be able to go anywhere independently. I’ve heard those same people go even further and say we’re lucky to have that service. This is something I also agree with. With all this in mind, though it has it’s cons, I guess it’s really not a bad service when you look at it from that point of view…which is something I’ve learned to accept.
