Movie Review: A Minecraft Movie (2025) seen in theatres
Animation; suitable for all ages; sci fi elements throughout, cartoon violence
Jack Black stars in this live action feature based on the video game “Minecraft.”
I just realized that this is the first time a description I have given in one of my reviews has only been one sentence. This is due to the fact that I know nothing about the video game “Minecraft” and I suppose if you know nothing about this video game, you aren’t going to know anything about the movie. This is the case for me as this movie only served as an outing for me, albeit one I got to have with mom. I know I have said before that (insert name of movie,) would not receive a review due to my lack of knowledge about the movie in question. Each time I have said this, I always managed to come up with something valid to write as a means of keeping my promise that every new movie seen would receive a review. However, this one came very close to me not being able to review it at all as I had no idea what was happening throughout and to be honest, I fell asleep for about half of this movie out of boredom. Having said that, my biggest draw to this movie was the casting of Jack Black. He is one of my favorite comedians and most of the movies I’ve seen him in have resulted in me getting a lot of laughter in. He just know how to act really well and he did not disappoint in this movie either. As a matter of fact, if it wasn’t for him being in this movie, I probably wouldn’t have even seen it due to my lack of caring and knowledge about the subject matter. However, he enabled me to keep my promise that I would indeed review every movie to the point where I feel this movie was a complete pass. I can thank Jack Black for giving me reason to continue on with my trend of being a full time unpaid movie blogger. He saved this movie from being seen as a flop as far as I’m concerned. Since I have so much respect for his acting, I guess I could bump my rating up to a complete pass.
Movie rating: 20 out of 20
