Silent Love Part 3: Jeff’s Revenge

Our story serves as a continuation of the story titled “Silent Love”. Before reading part 3 of this story, I want to do a quick recap of everything that has happened so far to bring you up to speed in case you have not been able to read up to this point or have forgotten what has happened up to this point.

In part 1 of this story, I sustain an injury where my vocal chords are damaged to the point where I can no longer speak. This comes after a fight with my best friend Chris where we are urged by my mother to stay away from each other in an act of revenge due to the events that previously occurred with his grandmother and her influence. After mom finds out I’m in the hospital due to my injury, we find out that there is a glimmer of hope as it relates to me being able to live a semi normal life again when the doctor offers to hire a live in nurse to serve as my advocate. This is an option that both mom and I agree to as opposed to me remaining in the hospital until the injury has cleared. Her name is Megan and as luck would have it, she is everything I want in a woman with her dark hair and English accent. Back at home after weeks of recovery and using my computer to communicate my needs which she verbalizes to the staff, I regain my ability to speak. Despite Megan’s services no longer being required, she chooses to stay with me after my heartfelt confession of love to her where the feelings are mutual on her end. Eventually, the two of us decide to marry. The wedding takes place in part 2.

In part 2, things are still not great between Chris and I as we struggle to maintain our friendship. Things become worse for us when Megan and I announce our intention to marry on the same day as Chris and his wife’s anniversary. As the relationship between Chris’ wife and myself is strained already due to the influence of his grandmother, it gets worse when she finds this out as we both feel that the date should be about our respective events. In an effort to save what’s left of the friendship between Chris and I, I make a suggestion to Megan that the date can be changed for them to be able to celebrate their anniversary. Megan is not having any of this as she feels her happiness should not depend on them. I then go for what I believe to be another plan to solve this problem by having Chris removed from the festivities despite his probable role in the wedding as my best man. I end up enlisting my brother Ben to take his place. After calling him one day and explaining the situation, he gratefully accepts with a tear in his eye as he is overjoyed at the prospect of my marriage.

With Ben onboard to the idea, plans are once again made without Chris in mind, even without him attending the wedding at all. Problems once again arise with this as mom finds out about this and says Chris should definitely be the best man. I tell her to discuss this with Chris as I do not want to get in trouble for suggesting it myself. She discusses it with them and suggests that Chris and his wife plan something on a different day to allow the wedding to take place. His wife is still upset and eventually her parents get involved in the problem. Though they are initially on their side believing their anniversary to be special, they change their tune as mom announces the real reason behind the change, (which was something they were previously unaware of,) which was the wedding. Her parents become so excited that they even decide to help with the wedding plans.

In the weeks leading up to the event, (which is now made official at this point,) visits to Chris’ house, with and without Megan, always seem to start normal only to go sour very quickly as the big day is mentioned as his wife still has unresolved aggression towards her anniversary being ruined. For the most part, the same cycle repeats with Chris being aware of his wife’s fault within the argument but choosing to take her side thereby inciting my anger towards him. Things turn out to get much worse on a visit including Megan where the usual hostile fight turns aggressive and even physical. Though this results in the same cycle being repeated again, it has a much worse consequence as both Chris and his wife are physically injured by Megan and I, (with Chris severely aggravating an injury to his arm which happened in real life but exists in the story,) but are still forced to be part of the wedding.

On the day of the wedding, some of my distant relatives arrive but are unaware of the fights that have occurred between Chris and I leading up to the event. They question why Chris and I are failing to communicate as much as we would normally given the fact that we are best friends not to mention how big and important this day is to me.

During the wedding as the priest is saying his normal piece, his wife wastes no time in commenting on how the day should equally be about her and Chris and how we took away their happiness, ETC. These words cause a threat from both Megan and I to have them removed by security. At the same time, I become so angry at Chris for his part in the situation that I make several derogatory comments towards them in my wedding vow to her, eventually apologizing to Megan for their forced role in the wedding while acknowledging that the wedding would have gone off without a hitch otherwise. These words cause Chris and I to come to blows in the middle of the ceremony with the fight needing to be broken up by our families. This finally causes both Megan and I to call security on them and have them removed. Once this is done, the wedding continues. When the priest asks if anyone objects to us being married, both Chris and his wife who were still outside the venue scream “WE OBJECT!” Disregarding their opinion, the priest asks if anyone else objects. When no one else speaks, Megan and I share our kiss thus solidifying our marriage.
