In Chapter five, mom unfortunately succumbed to heartbreak after I was forced to choose between her and Megan following a resurgence of old problems I experienced in my teenage years which initially had followed me into the start of my relationship with Megan where I would misinterpret her desire to meet mom as having romantic feelings for her. This lead to her eventually telling mom who then gave me the ultimatum. This seemed like an easy choice for me at the time as I had been known to respect mom no matter what and had put nothing else and nobody else above her. This however was threatened by Megan who vowed revenge on me after the misinterpretation lead to the end of the relationship. This revenge came in the form of me realizing my worst fears as Megan would enter a romantic relationship with my brother Ben who had heard of all the nasty things I accused Megan of during our initial relationship. Fearing that my worst nightmare was coming true, I chose Megan over mom which resulted in her death from heartbreak and shock. Despite this, Megan entered into the relationship with Ben anyway who forced me to move into their new house. They would set me up in the basement with a tv and would bring me food as needed but I was not allowed upstairs nor was I allowed to speak unless I was spoken to while Megan and Ben would get intimate overnight with me forced to listen until I fell asleep. One day, Megan and Ben force me to attend a group for people who have suffered loss recently. Though initially reluctant, I change my ways when I meet a girl of my own within the group who had just lost her boyfriend. She sympathizes with my situation enough to enter into a relationship with me and invites me to a dance being held at a nearby hall. After one of the songs played at the dance reminds me of Megan, I began to cry only to have the girl kiss me where we would return to my house for overnight intimacy. Meanwhile, Megan has admitted that her relationship with Ben was just set up to harm me out of revenge for my mistreatment of her and she never had any intention of continuing it. Ben agrees but tells her to call him if anything things else comes up so she can have a person to talk to. He moves away while Megan returns to the house to get me back only to find me in bed with the girl. She angrily forces the girl to leave only to confront me saying that she had no intention of leaving me for my brother and that she had just set it up to look that way as a means to hurt me for my mistreatment of her. We shockingly rekindle our relationship and everything appears to be going well until the girl returns which sparks more intimacy between us which Megan walks in on. She angrily goes to bed vowing to call Ben and tell him about what happened. Though I go to bed depressed, suddenly I get a visit from mom in the afterlife who points out that my life is nothing like she would have wanted once she died. She didn’t want me being taken advantage of or forced to do anything and she vowed to never forgive Ben for stealing Megan from me. She tells me it’s time for me to go and stay with her. Though initially reluctant to do this due to my feelings for Megan, she eventually convinces me to go and stay with her the next day even going as far as to say it’s no longer my decision since she can’t be at peace while she knows I’m suffering. With a mixture of reluctance and excitement, it becomes clear to me what I have to do to find peace.

Silent Love Part 6: The End

Our story begins the morning after my surprise visit from mom. As I had woken up to everything seemingly appearing normal, my conversation was dismissed as just a dream. The problem was that Megan’s anger over what she saw the night before was not. She came into the living room where I had slept on my chair.

“Are you going to get up or what?” she angrily asks

“Last night……she stops me before I can say anything

“I don’t want to hear about last night. You know what you did was wrong and you will pay. That’s all I have to say. Don’t talk to me about anything that happened last night or I’m leaving and one more thing. If you try to flirt with me by calling me pet names or touching me or heaven forbid you try to kiss me, I walk out and you never see me again. Our relationship is over and yes, I have spoke to Ben about this. He is coming over later to discuss this. There’s even the possibility that we might end up together because we have spent the whole night talking and he is a better person than you. He’s nicer than you. He cares about me more than you do. He listens to me better than you do and I think he loves me more than you do. You know what? Screw this. I’m not waiting for him to make the first move. I’m going to make it first. I don’t care if he’s my brother in law or not.” she says

At a loss for what to say and knowing full well that Megan would never believe anything that happened to me with mom the night before, I remain quiet but manage to show my emotion by pouting.

“What’s the matter Jeff? You got what you wanted. I won’t bother you anymore. What difference does it make if I’m in love with your brother or not? It’s none of your business. Why don’t you watch tv and leave me alone for the rest of the day? Your brother and my boyfriend is coming over soon. I have to get ready.” she says

Ben arrives sometime later in the afternoon. Up until that point, I have sat quietly and watched Wrestling on my tv with no conversation with Megan. As she opens the door to let him in, she yells, “Jeff your brother is here.”

When I fail to come upstairs, she angrily comes down the stairs and scolds me for not coming up when asked.

“When we have company, you come upstairs and you greet them.” she says

“Oh now I live here and can come up anytime I want. But you said every other time that I’m not supposed to come upstairs. You know what? I’m getting sick of your mouth with me.” I reply

“What did you say to me?” she asks

Without replying, I charge towards Megan only to be intercepted by Ben

“Excuse me. YOU DO NOT CHARGE AT MY GIRLFRIEND OR SPEAK TO HER LIKE THAT. DO YOU UNDERSTAND ME? YOU LITTLE ASSHOLE! YOU WILL RESPECT HER AND ME BECAUSE I’M YOUR BROTHER. THIS IS NOT LIKE THINGS WERE BEFORE. OUR MOTHER IS DEAD SO WHAT ARE YOU GOING TO DO? WHO ARE YOU GOING TO TURN TO? WE’RE THE ONLY FAMILY YOU HAVE AND I’M TELLING YOU THIS RIGHT NOW. SISTER IN LAW OR NOT, SHE IS THE MOTHER OF MY CHILDREN! IF YOU HARM THE LOVE OF MY LIFE AND THE MOTHER OF MY CHILDREN, YOU ARE OUT ON YOUR ASS AND LIVING HOMELESS. BUT RIGHT NOW, I THINK YOU SHOULD BE PUNISHED FOR THREATENING TO LAY YOUR HANDS ON THE MOST BEAUTIFUL WOMAN THIS EARTH HAS EVER SEEN AND SINCE YOU LOVE TO DO THINGS THE WAY THAT MOM DID THEM, HOW DID SHE USED TO USED TO PUNISH YOU WHEN WE WERE KIDS AND YOU GOT OUT OF LINE WITH ONE OF US PHYSICALLY OR SPOKE LIKE A WRESTLER?” he screams

“I begin crying.

“Oh stop this fuckin nonsense.” You know as well as I do that mom would never put up with this. Why the hell should we?” Ben scolds. Now what I want to hear is a sincere apology to Megan and if I don’t think it’s sincere, I will take matters into my own hands and trust me, you will not like what happens. Now do it.”

I approach Megan with a tear in my eye. “I’m sorry Megan.” I say

“That’s not good enough. I also want you to acknowledge the fact that she is a member of our family. I know she’s not the member you want her to be but that’s too bad. So repeat after me.

“Megan I love you but not as your boyfriend and from now on you will be treated like I used to treat mom because I’m aware of the fact that Ben loves you more than I ever did and I’m sorry I initially wasted my time with you. Ben says

When I refuse to give into his demands, he scolds me by saying, “Come on we don’t have all day. I’m taking my wife to be for dinner tonight.”

A smile comes across my face

“What’s that smile doing on your face? There’s nothing to smile about now. You just threatened to assault my girlfriend. You’re lucky I don’t kill you. Oh is this because you think you’re coming? I don’t think so. Yeah you just assaulted my girlfriend and then I’m going to turn around and buy you dinner? No fuckin way. You sit your ass in that basement with crackers as a meal and nothing else. There is something I forgot to do though.” Ben said

Ben proceeds downstairs and destroys my tv.

“This is gone. No more tv. Yeah just like mom did when we were kids. You misbehaved and you lost Wrestling. Rest in peace mom. Look at what your son has become. A fuckin little freeloading asshole who clearly has no respect for women. And where do you think he got this from? From Wrestling that’s where. Shame on him for ever liking that show but shame on you for ever allowing him to watch it in the first place. It’s done. Your time with him is done. He’s our responsibility now.” scolds Ben

This rant finally sent me over the edge and I finally snapped.

“THAT’S YOUR MOTHER YOU SON OF A FUCKIN BITCH. HOW DARE YOU! I charge at him and manage to knock him down using Megan’s cane.

“Yeah that’s right, you love Megan so fuckin much. How much do like her cane bruising your fuckin face and making you bleed.” I scream

After absorbing two shots, Ben attempts to fight back by grabbing the bottom of the cane and forcing me to fall with it. Just then Megan appears and holds me up to allow Ben free shots with the cane that bust me open.

“Kick his fuckin ass” she says

After breaking free of her grip on my wrists, I knock Ben down and pummel him with my fists causing him to bleed as well. Megan comes from behind but I manage to tackle her on the floor while Ben still suffers from my initial attack.

“You want to cheat on me? You stupid bitch. I’ll give you a reason to cheat on me..” I say

Having taken leave of my senses. I do something that mom would deem so far out of character for me and aggressively unbutton her jeans and her underwear intent on sexually assaulting her.

“HELP!” she screams

Finally coming to his senses, Ben notices this action taking place and aggressively grabs me and pummels me until I’m knocked unconscious.

“I’m calling the police and you are out of here!” screamed Ben

I pass out and when I wake up, police officers are standing over me.

“Sir I’m sorry to inform you that you are under arrest for the attempted sexual assault of a female.” says one of the officers as the other holds me down and places me in handcuffs

“Get him out of here.” Megan screams

After being placed in the vehicle, I’m viciously beaten with a baton by the two arresting officers.

“This is how we treat men who sexually assault women.” they say

I once again pass out in the police car only to wake up in a hospital bed unable to remember what had just occurred. I am able to hear the nurse talk to Ben and Megan.

“I’m prescribing this medication to sedate him to ensure this never happens again.” she says

“It won’t because the police have set a court date for us and he will be going to jail.” Megan says happily. You hear that asshole? You’re going to jail while your brother and I get married. Where’s mommy now?”

As I am still under the influence of medication, I am really unable to respond but I’m able to mutter, “You little bitch.”

After shoving me back in the car, Ben urges me to hurry “Come on asshole hurry up we have to get ready for our date. I really don’t know why I even bother to bring you into our house after what you did to my wife. I should just leave you here but I know that mom wouldn’t like that so I guess I will bring you home but once we get there, you know where to go. Downstairs and you don’t say a word to Megan or I. You leave us alone. Do you hear me?” Ben angrily says

Arriving home, Megan grabs my hand and forces me downstairs. She had come home on the bus to get ready for the date while Ben brought me home in his car. She taunted me with the dress she wore.

“Now I think you know what to do but first I want to show you something. Look at this sexy dress Ben bought me.” she says

She leans over the chair

“You know what I love about this dress? I could tell you but I would rather show you.” she says

She unzips the front of the dress exposing her boobs

“Come on. You used to love this. Go ahead and touch them both just for old time sake. I won’t tell Ben but I would hate for you to forget everything you once had. If it takes the rest of my life, I will see to it that you go to sleep every night and wake up every morning regretting all of the things you put me through and remembering how good you used to have it with me because that’s as close as you’re ever going to come to having me in that way again. All you have are the memories so you might as well cherish them. All I’m doing is providing you with one more. You need to hurry though. Your brother is waiting for me in the car.” she says

I fail to do it.

“I SAID DO IT!” she screams before forcing my hand to rub on each of them.

“There that wasn’t so bad was it? But tonight your brother is going to do more than just this with me and you might wake up with a new brother or sister. By the way, our wedding date is set and you better attend. It’s in two weeks and you get more than an invitation. If you don’t come to our wedding, I swear your life will be hell afterwards. You’re nothing but selfish. That’s the basic problem. Why can’t you just be happy for us? He’s your brother for fuck sakes.” screamed Megan

“Maybe I’ll see you later if dinner doesn’t turn into sex right after we get home but let’s be honest, it will so I guess I’ll see you in the morning.” she says

“Of course it will. Anything sexual always happens when you’re around. It’s not just probable.” I say sarcastically

“Are you calling me a whore? I think you are and you know how I’m going to respond to this. I won’t use words.”

Megan begins slapping me before administering the medication the doctor had prescribed before leaving and locking me in the basement.

“That should sedate you enough.” she said. Have a great night.”

I fall into a deep sleep with my nose having been broken. I awake several hours later with Ben and Megan having not yet returned from their date.

Just then, the image of mom appears as it did the night before.

“Oh my god. Look at you.” said mom

I then begin to cry. “Mom you have no idea what has happened since you’ve been gone. Everybody has turned on me. My own brother treats me bad and keeps locking me in here. I finally snapped at him and assaulted him and where did that get me? I got thrown into the back of a police car and beaten with batons. I woke up in a hospital bed where Megan and Ben forced me to stay in the basement while they have children. I was beaten profusely by Megan who slapped me. This is why I’m bleeding.” I explained

“That’s fuckin ridiculous. You know what? No more. It’s time for you to come and stay with me. Don’t give them the satisfaction of being there when they get home. It’s only going to get worse. Your brother is a fuckin little asshole and Megan is a little bitch who clearly doesn’t know how how good she has it with you. Don’t you remember how you guys met? You pulled her off the street for god sakes. You saved her from certain death and this is how she repays you. By turning your own flesh and blood against you? You know what? As hard as it is for me to admit, I don’t think she loves you anymore and you have no reason to live anymore. As your mother, I’m telling you it’s time. You are coming to stay with me right now.” mom said

I then begin crying. “How do I send myself to you?” I ask

“You’re a grown up. Figure it out yourself.” said mom

“Ok I’ll be there soon mom.” I say

For another hour, I struggle with the proper way to send myself to mom. Just then, I hear the car pull in the driveway. Ben and Megan were returning from their date. In a last ditch effort, I simply pour the entire bottle of medication down my throat sending me into a deep sleep from which I never awaken.

The next morning as Megan comes down to see me, she is shocked when I refuse to wake up.

BEN!!!” she screams

Ben rushes downstairs to find me unresponsive. They call an ambulance but they are unable to resuscitate me.

“I’m sorry for the way I treated you Jeff. I told you before that this wasn’t the way it was supposed to happen. I love you.” Megan says tearfully

“I don’t know if we can handle a funeral. Jeff knew we loved him but he needed to also know that everything we were doing was to show him that the way he was treating you was wrong.” Ben said

The two tearfully watch on as I lie there helplessly. Just then, an image of mom and I reuniting in heaven can be seen as I am finally at peace and back safe with mom.
