Answer to daily writing prompt

Daily writing prompt
What’s the story behind your nickname?

Well originally I wanted to change my full name to Jefferson, (my first name is Jeff,) because the name Jeff sounded boring to me. Going forward I was going to tell people that I was named after the president Thomas Jefferson. My mother had a problem with this and denied my first name being Jefferson and denied any connection between the president and myself when choosing to call me by that name.

I have recently rediscovered my passion for writing and to make it official, my stepfather gave me the nickname “Jefferson Bert” which stuck to me and I decided to use that as my author’s name. All of the books I write from now on will be written under the author’s name of Jefferson Bert. However, I have no idea where Bert came from. I want to make it clear that despite this, my real name is not Jefferson Bert but once my books get published, this is the name that will be credited as the author.

Though this is unrelated to the question, since beginning to write again, I’ve finished two books which are six chapters each called “Silent Love” and “Sins of the Brother” respectively. If anyone is interested, the full length stories are published on the site if anyone wants to read them.
