Trivia For Unplanned Parenthood Chapter 3 The Gift of Inconvenience

  1. This is likely the shortest chapter I’ve written to date in all three of my books so far. It only lasts four pages when printed out.
  2. Due to the length of some of the dialogue, one conversation takes up the entire chapter
  3. The main reason for it’s short length is because the main cause of the chapter’s conflict is addressed early on with nothing much to really say beyond it being addressed.
  4. It had the potential to pretty much end after mom’s second round of dialogue as there was really nothing else following it
  5. This made it hard for me to write as I had to continue to add more scripts following mom’s second round of dialogue
  6. Despite being mentioned multiple times throughout the chapter, Megan does not appear at all in this chapter.
  7. This is the first chapter in the three books where she does not appear.
  8. She was supposed to appear near the end of the chapter to see the baby and would have shared in mom’s anger towards me.
  9. It was decided that she would not appear after I realized that she would have had the exact same dialogue as mom did throughout the story.
  10. There was also set to be a scene in which our yelling causes the baby to wake up from a nap she was having thus intensifying mom’s anger towards me
  11. My stepfather was supposed to appear in this chapter as well having returned from a business trip
  12. There was also a cut scene where my brother and mom would have been forced out of the retirement home due to a rule where no kids are allowed.
  13. Another proposed reason for mom moving was because of the baby’s crying overnight due to missing her parents keeping the other residents up at night.
  14. The baby was supposed to have a disability which resulted in the behaviour that would have got them removed from the retirement home. It would have been a form of autism.
  15. This idea was deleted as I did not want to unintentionally offend people who actually suffer from the disease.
  16. Another proposed storyline was for the baby to have been revealed as my brother’s rather than mine. This was an idea that mom came up with in reality.
  17. It was deleted as I was trying to distance myself from any scenes involving infidelity.
  18. Megan is set to return in chapter 4 having no idea that mom has disowned me.
  19. Refer to number 12 as a spoiler alert for chapter 4. This storyline would have occurred no matter what with different circumstances leading to it occurring.
  20. At some point in later chapters, Megan (the baby) will grow up and be unruly to the other residents due to the life she had up to that point. This is another proposed reason for mom’s and Brad’s departure.
  21. The story in chapter 3 that actually occurred was done as a way to distance myself from crazy beliefs I used to have as a teenager regarding mom….these were inappropriate to say the least. Though I know I would never get away with confronting her like that in real life.
  22. Mom going into a retirement home was never meant to last as she has expressed her dislike for going into one as she gets older and also, I can’t stand retirement homes myself as most people who move into them never move out if anybody knows what I mean.
