Five things that make me happy…..this is going to be a tough one because I don’t even think there are five things that make me happy in this world. I’m up for the challenge though.
- Anytime mom calls me throughout the day
- When I’m able to reach mom on the phone
- Not having to go out for days on end
- Watching tv without having to do other things
- When the elevator in my building breaks as I’m on the second floor, (refer to number 3.)
- Staying in my pajamas for the whole day to accentuate how lazy I desire to be on that particular day despite this decision being ridiculed by mom.
- Sleeping for most of the day
- Not having to overly explain myself when I’m tired
- That feeling I’m sure everybody gets when all they want to do is sit down once that opportunity presents itself.
- Being by myself, (except for when family and friends come to visit me.)
- Having delivery services bring me most of the things I need to limit my outings despite this costing more.
Pretty much, anything that requires the least amount of effort on my part is what makes me happy. Now I know that most of you would think that I’m lazy but I recently figured out that said laziness is a result of my age catching up with me. I can’t move without anything hurting anymore and anytime I go out anywhere or when I’ve been active for a whole day, I tend to get tired in the evening. It’s gotten so bad recently that I tend to fall asleep watching movies or tv. This even happens at the movies sometimes. I’ll be sitting there. It’s dark and the noise from the movie creates good background noise for me to have a nap despite me paying to see the movie. I feel that it’s a good opportunity for me to close my eyes and rest. Clearly I cannot do things like I used to do and I would be lying if I said this didn’t make me feel a little bit discouraged.
I say that my age is catching up to me as the reason for my lack of energy but the sad part is I’m only 35 going on 36 years old at the time of this writing. If it’s like this now, I would hate to see myself when I reach 50 or older but I guess I will deal with that when the time comes.
I gave much more than five things that make me happy but I can simplify everything into just two things that make me happy. Pretty much. any involvement from mom in my life makes me happy and being lazy makes me happy as well. Having said this, mom won’t allow me to be lazy but even if I am, I know she still loves me. One thing I’m sure she will agree with is that I’m not lazy when it comes to calling her on the phone upwards of 100 times a day. One thing is for sure though. I will never be lazy in describing how much I praise her for doing what she has done for me.
