In my personal opinion, I find that the words significant and other should not exist in the same sentence. This is because in my personal experience, when you put those two words together, you end up with five months of BS which is followed by five years of thinking that same BS still exists which in turn causes your life to take a downward spiral where you make bad decisions which result in an uphill battle not only for your family’s admiration and respect for you, but your own decency as a human being. Those five years are going to be tough but eventually you’ll go through therapy sessions along with years of telling yourself that it was just a relationship and the end result should not dictate the rest of your natural born life. All of this is done while listening to people closest to you say that you should never have the aforementioned significant other again because you’re much older now and the consequences that result from a bad ending to a potential new one could result in jail time or even death due to your advanced age. So I believe that there should be no such thing as a real significant other if you want to maintain your sanity.
However, those who want to know where mine lives, she has a space in my brain but occasionally takes vacations within the walls of my apartment. I’ve never seen her. Nobody has ever seen her because she’s not real. You would think that her being non existent would make me happy and it does. I win every argument but she has her moments to say the least, (if this makes any sense.) She’s quite literally my dream girl. I may be crazy for thinking that but I wouldn’t change my relationship status for the world. Having a significant other in the first place was the worst decision I ever made, one that I still regret to this day and I surely won’t make the same mistake again. My life is fine the way it is.
