It’s been a while since I’ve made a promise that I knew I was able to keep. Most of the time, I end up saying that I cannot promise that I wanted to make initially. Therefore this answer is hard to come up with. However, after some consideration I realized that I once made a promise to myself and to mom that after I moved out on my own I would always remain faithful to her no matter how old I got despite us not living together anymore. After I moved out, certain family members, (other than me,) turned on mom for various reasons and went their own way not wanting anything to do with her. Though I am usually an open book, I will have to keep the reason and the details behind this under wraps as they are considered private. I will say that the result of these issues made mom very upset and as time went on, she found herself unable to deal with it due to stress and increased health issues. Every day I would talk to her and she told me that someone was bad mouthing her and insulting her ETC. Though I was powerless to do anything, I showed my allegiance to mom by cutting those people out of my life, (some of these people have been on and off and temporary while others have been permanently cut,) for whatever length of time mom did not associate with them. I would return to the normal status of talking to them again if and when mom patched things up with them. I made it my mission to always remain faithful to mom and I intend to keep that promise.
While mom has shown a lot of appreciation for my never ending allegiance to her, sometimes I think she finds it annoying especially when I put my own life on hold just to talk to her. I’m sure that a lot of people have read about how many times a call I call mom and how it gets on her nerves ETC. However, what most people don’t realize is the fact that at times, I even find myself putting her over things that I have to do in my own life such as care with my staff ETC. This really gets on her nerves. At least mom should know that I am willing to not have a life if it means talking to mom and having a good relationship with her. To be honest, if I don’t have a good relationship with her, then I don’t really have a life worth living. This just goes to show how much of an impact she has on my life. Though she may find it annoying, I know deep down that it makes her happy that I care so much.
