The ironic part of this question is that while I know something that’s considered pretty straight forward and basic, (actually it’s not even a skill. It’s just something that should be easy,) I’ve never been able to do it at least for the better part of my adult life. While this is something that should undoubtedly bring my joy, I find that the results of this deed may vary to say the least. I’m not sure if I want to do this again because of the results that occurred the last time I tried this. However, I find that asking a girl out on a date or professing your love and admiration for her should be an easy task. Having said that everybody makes a big deal out of it as they fear rejection or saying the wrong thing. On a personal level, I don’t fear rejection and as a matter of fact, I don’t even want to ask a girl out because I realize that having a girlfriend means that I have to show interest in her and care about what she wants ETC when all I really want is to be single. It’s a lot easier that way.
For those people who aspire to win the heart of the girl of their dreams, it should be as simple as asking her. It’s a yes or no question that shouldn’t effect the overall outcome of your life, (at least as far as I’m concerned.) However, I should give a warning that in some cases, you’re giving up a lot more than you’re earning by doing this but if it’s what you want, then go for it. In my case though, I’m happy just being single.
